Inspiring Aspirations Among Students

Through seminars and workshops in colleges and universities MAGMT motivates students towards exciting and satisfying careers in Defense and allied services. Starting with the Inaugural Workshop held on 8 July 2018 in Bengaluru on ‘Career opportunities for a life of honor’ every year large number of students have been reached through MAGMT workshops and seminars in educational institutions. Achievement Awards are presented to students in collaboration with educational institutions to motivate them to be inspired by real life heroes in diverse fields. With local government school children through interactive sessions, competitions, art and tasks, aim is to encourage children to strive to be capable, caring, fit and motivated citizens.

Honoring Real Heroes

Through commemorating events that celebrate the velour and victories of our defense forces to protect our democracy. Every year MAGMT organizes grand events for students and citizens to know about how hard fought battles have been won and understand that our freedom is not free. The audience gets the rare opportunity to listen to and interact with India’s real soldier heroes who braved bullets and bombs to make war victories a reality. War Veterans along with families of brave-heart Soldiers who made supreme sacrifice fighting for glory of our Tricolor, are felicitated at such Vijay Diwas events. MAGMT commemorates Vijay Diwas of 1971 War, Kargil Vijay Diwas,Independence Day and Republic Day.

Solidarity with Braveheart Families

This is to stand with those after their most beloved have sacrificed their lives defending our nation. Through networking for moral support, travel for home visits, organizing and supporting parents, veer narees and children to pay respects to their brave-heart at the National War Memorial and so on, members of MAGMT bond with other families of martyrs with the aim to share, care and support one another. Need based financial support is also extended on a case to case basis to parents, widows and children as gratitude for the supreme sacrifice of a soldier for motherland. Needs of families are supported through own funds, donations by individuals and linkages with organizations.

Research and Advocacy

The initiatives in collaboration with other organizations are undertaken to strengthen data, present ground realities, prioritize challenges and make recommendations to bridge the policy and access gaps so that brave soldiers and families may lead lives with dignity. Published studies, meetings and presenting research findings to decision makers in government, along with civil society interactions are part of ongoing advocacy efforts. Two major nationwide research papers focused on families of soldiers who have sacrificed for the nation, war disabled soldiers and disabled cadets have been published by the leading defense thank United Service Institution of India (USI India).

Additional Activities and Efforts

This is to respond with help when individuals needing timely assistance are referred to MAGMT. We are proud to be a small part of the journey of real Heroes like Para Archer Sheetal Devi and Brave Soldier Naik Gura Singh. Sheetal Devi was referred to MAGMT through the Rashtriya Rifles battalion in Kishtwar and with the support of many others, she has brought glory to Indian sports. Sheetal is the world’s first female archer without arms to have won an Olympic Medal apart from many other International Medals for India. Naik Gura Singh took bullets in IPKF Operations and is the only survivor among 30 Brave Soldiers of 13 Sikh Li who fought to their last breath against LTTE in Jaffna University. With generous support from many Indians, a house was built for him and his family in his village near Kot Kapura, Punjab. In 2024, MAGMT supported three students to undertake a cycling expedition from Palampur to Kargil War Memorial as tribute to Bravehearts of Kargil. Every year, MAGMT supports annual education fees for children of widows and needy families and extends monthly financial assistance to neglected and forgotten parents of Braveheart soldiers.
